24-30-31 JULY UP - BELLEZZA IN BICICLETTA [BEAUTY BY BIKE]: the festival of the Alta Murgia National Park

Wednesday, 06 July 2016 09:10

Art, nature, tourism and education will be the focus of the 2016 Edition of UP! Festival of the Alta Murgia National Park, the event that in July will animate the 13 towns of this extraordinary area of Puglia. The concept of UP! starts from a form of tourism based on gentle mobility, where the promotion and dissemination of culture move through the principle of "zero impact" in order to communicate directly the idea of a park to be enjoyed and respected. The theme chosen for 2016 is beauty by bike, a spirited way to narrate the natural excellence of these places and to publicise internationally the magnificent trails of the cycle paths in the Park.

The Festival of the Alta Murgia National Park will also be an opportunity to demonstrate to the citizens of the Park and to the guests of the event the Plan for the Park which recently entered into force: an instrument governing the interventions relating to use of the area, to conservation and to development of the heritage of naturalistic, environmental, historical and  cultural and also traditional anthropological values. The activities of humans will also be an important focus. The plan will also be a central theme of one of the three workshops scheduled.
But UP! is also an opportunity for great music, with a contest for emerging artists and three evenings dedicated to musicians such as GiĆ² Sada, Ermal Meta, Radiodervish and award-winning Forneria Marconi. To this will be added the beautiful evening trips to admire the great natural scenery of the Alta Murgia National Park, the activities planned for the lounge area created there and the educational learning paths where children will be able to learn about the concept of personal responsibility applied to nature.
